Head Grower / Supervisor – Ecobain Gardens Urban Farm Permanent, Full Time Saskatoon, SK.
Ecobain Gardens is an urban, Vertical hydroponic farm operating within Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We began operations in 2013, specializing in micro green productions.
We completed a large expansion near the end of last year and have expanded our operations to include production of leafy greens and herbs under the latest in L.E.D lighting. Ecobain Gardens has always striven to be a leader in the new and ever-expanding field of urban agriculture. We aim to continue to grow our operations throughout Western Canada and will continue to challenge the conventions of traditional farming.
Monitor the growth of the herbs and leafy greens
Ensure that the farm is in compliance with GAP Canada regulations.
Plan and execute growth planning to meet weekly orders.
Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications.
Gather data from plant grows and assist in optimizing inputs for peak performance.
Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity.
Participate in quality and productivity improvement initiatives.
Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Furthering education that is relevant to the new industry of CEA
R & D projects
Help maintain a safe and clean workplace.
Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Completion of post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field.
Experience as a Supervisor or team lead an asset.
Growing or greenhouse experience an asset.
Ability to create custom fertilizer blends
Familiarity with the hydroponics floating raft method an asset.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to create logically ordered objectives.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Attention to detail a necessity.
Ability to motivate and attain positive results from employees and teams is a must.
Additional training in this field an asset.
Urban Farm in Saskatoon, SK.
Valid driver’s licence strongly encouraged.
Ability to work shifts including weekends
Ability to work long hours when/if required.
Ability to work in evenings when required to complete growing facility checks.
